This reflects a 53 percent reduction from April in the total amount of Montana land and property for sale. Of Montana's 56 counties, Flathead County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 8,771 acres of sold land in Montana recorded in April 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from the previous month. The most land sales in the state last month were recorded in Gallatin and Lewis and Clark County. Montana is the fourth-biggest state in the United States, covering an area of 147,046 square miles (94 million acres). Game species to be found on land for sale in Montana include mule deer, whitetail deer, elk, ducks, pheasant, grouse, and bear. Anglers have their choice of trout, bass, walleye, catfish, and pike.
